The Leap Years

Caught this show yesterday and i kinda liked it. Gallen, if u r reading this, sorry for "dragging" u along. This movie can be too idealistic for guys but we girls just love such storylines *smile*

I was keen to watch this show after Kee Leng & Kevin recommended it...2 very different friends. KL has mentioned this out of the blue before Vertical Marathon. The latter told me to go catch it if i wanted to learn abt patience. Anyhow, i wouldn't have watched it if i know it will not end well.

Certain dialogues and scenes reli sent tears welling in my heart. I was fighting back the tears (i hate to cry in public...pride lah). The last love story who touched me in a similar manner was "Before Sunset" (Ethan Hawke & Julie Delpy).

The very 1st time Li-Ann (Wong Li Lin) & Jeremy (Ananda) met, the guy said to her..."Li-Ann, you are very brave, not afraid that there will be no one to love you for all these years, only willing to wait for the right one to appear. You love not for the sake of needing someone to accompany you through the lonely times but only when you truly feel you met love". There are many people who settle for a relationship just for the sake of company.

Li-Ann mentioned, "Do you know? The most common word used in a love letter is 'miss', not 'love'." Come to think of it, it's kinda true.

A point worth mentioning is that the movie celebrates friendship. The friendship btw Li-Ann & KS (Qi Yuwu) and the girls was so strong. Other than the love btw a man & woman, we shldn't neglect the love btw friends. To Stacey, Yanting, Irene, Chris, AhBu, Xiaoji, Cecile, Lene & Meijin: Thank you for standing by my side all these years. I love you gers!

At the point when KS noticed Li-Ann wasn't feeling happy about getting married to Raymond, he questioned her if she felt joy with her hubby-to-be and if he made her forget Jeremy. Li-Ann was dumb-founded. How i totally agree with KS! If you reli meet someone whom u can connect, u will naturally feel happy with him/her & the past will no longer linger.
I would recommend this movie only if u r someone who believes in romantic love. Watch this with an open mind...and yes, heart :)

Some meaningful quotes on the calendar in the movie:

"Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous- Albert Einstein"
"A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to aviod it- Jean de La Fontaine"
"In three words I can sum up what I learnt in life: It goes on- Robert Feart"
"if you are not too long, I will wait for you all my life- Oscar Wilde"
