I recalled what CM told me before - long-time friends gather for 3 reasons.

When a new life is born
When two lives are joint in matrimony
When a life has departed

Glad to say that what i attended on Monday was the 2nd one. Wee Leng finally found the girl of his dreams. Her name is Wendy...a sweet-looking & petite girl. They knew each other at work. Seeing the "xinfu" smile lighting up Wee Leng's face, i really feel very happy for him.

Somehow the same old subjects are brought up over wedding dinners of long-time-no-see friends...where are u working now? When r u planning for a kid (for married ones)? When izzit ur turn (for singletons)? It is also the time whereby u hear news of those who did not attend. I was shocked to learn that Jac has divorced & currently seconded to Tokyo for work. She's one of my poly friends who "unexpectedly" got married first. I always knew her as a lively ger with lots and lots of chattering laughter. Yet beneath that playful demeanor cuts an independent & rational woman. I guess it must be some compelling reason that prompted this decision.

And today, i was informed that a couple friend whom i know personally has filed for divorce. Honestly, i always think my ger friend deserves better altho i am "closer" to the guy. Hmm...it's always easier for outsiders to comment. Anw, it's unfair to say who's rite or wrong. Neither shld we outsiders judge. I just wish that both of them will be happy in time to come.
