My New Hot Pink Asics!

I've got a pair of pink running shoes!!!!!! See!

Nope, i din choose the color. I merely ordered a pair of GT2130 thru Clarence. Only saw the color when Joyce passed them to me. As my current Asics is wearing out, I bought this pair & intended it for use at TNF & HKTW. Now, i tink tis girly color shld hit the road. Shall switch my blue Saucony for trail instead.

Brought my new shoes for her virgin run just now. Felt good! Plus the good breezy weather, i had a great run! Not that i am superstitious but i tink it's important to feel good in ur first run with a new pair of shoes.

Take my current purple Asics. The buying process caused a lot of undue emotional stress. Then my first run with it wasn't a pleasant experience...was recovering from my injury but doing a long overnite run in prep for JPTW...not to mention on the very same day, i got a scolding from someone & bumped into pple whom i rather not see in tat unglamly dishevelled state. I wanted to retire the shoes asap. After 7 mths, the shelf life is finally coming to an end. Mixed feelings about discarding it tho. Yes, i develop "feelings" for non-living things like shoes, shirts, even a spoon! Haha, i kept my 1st pri-sch camping fork+spoon for about 15yrs b4 putting them for communal use at home. I am a nostalgic being ;)

Since i'm on it. Let's take stock of my pre-owned shoes :)

My first pair of Asics running shoes, technically speaking. An ex-bf got this for me so i have no idea what model it was. I din like the color tho cos it was so "guyish".

Before this, i was running in an undersized Nike shoe. I had bought it for some Big Walk thingy (and subsequently Ophir!) hence it disintegrated soon after i really STARTED running.

My first trekking boots. Very trusty Merrell. What can i say? It has seen me through my many 1st mountains. I love this brand ever since but couldn't find a second pair of the same model in Singapore :(

Got this pair of Salomon at a good discounted rate. Used it for adventure races tho they didn't really fitted well. At least they looked nice! :P When it could no longer be used for races, i wore them for backpacking trips cos of the convenient quick-lacing system (and chio color..hee)
Forgot to take a pic b4 i threw away this pair of Salomon Techamphibian. I think it was a free gift too? Used it very much for walking cos there's nothing much i can do with it. Not enough cushioning for runs & water can seep in easily (it's not called amphibian for nothing). Oh ya, despite its breathability, it gets really stinky after wearing it for half a day. Not just me, the other owners too...eg. Uncle Jack & Joanne. Hahahha.

I think this is my first pair of GT2110. Been happily stuck with this model since.

Another pair of Salomon that can't fit my feet. Most adventure racers swear by Salomon but i have an otherwise review. Perhaps i'm not cut out to be an adventure racer? Hehhe. Anw, i got this as my "payment" for helping out at an ACE race :) Used it mostly for off-road cycling. Tat explains the mud & dirt.

A free "gift" from Siti. Her nephew who was in NS then passed it to her who in turn, gave it to me cos it was too small for her. Used it for gymwork.

Tat's all for the time being. Another 2 pairs on the way...a blue Asics 2120 (?) and my 2nd pair of blue Saucony Hurricane - the one that my running kakis gave to me on my bday last yr. I wore them for Tokyo Marathon & got a PB!

Never in the past would i thought i would have so many pairs of sport shoes...for different uses somemore. Always tot it's not feminine to wear such shoes. Well...a lifestyle change would affect one's buying pattern. Now i have equal no. of gerger shoes vs chor loh shoes *wink*
