On Children's Day today, I got 2 surprises :)
Met Charlene & MJ for dinner at Suntec. The former was late so MJ & I went in first. Prior to meeting, I couldn't understand why this place was chosen since we tried it b4 (and it's nothing special for my birthday :P). The service crew wanted to show us to a table for 8 when we said there're only 3 of us. Duh.
When C reached, she asked for a change of table...right under the escalator...so dim and it was so far away from the food but MJ subtly discouraged me from insisting 'cos C has had a busy work day rushing with her quarter-end closing. We soon got down to the food (staaaarving).
Halfway through eating, i casually turned my attention to the mall's walkway. I spotted Ah Bu. Hey, she's out shopping with her colleagues! I thought. A-not-so-usual gesture then sprouted. I called out to her across the restaurant. Omg! I must have appeared auntish. Then the nearby faces around her turned - Cecile, Jaslyn, Stacey and XJ. Hahaha. Except for Irene & Chris who were out of town, all the girls are here :)
Apparently, C has been "plotting" this surprise a month before my birthday. It was nearly thwarted by many elements but all's well that ends well. In all honesty, I was really taken aback (and it's not easy to surprise me).
Just as i thought my birth day has come to an end, something sweet awaits me at home.
I closed the door behind my tired body and switched on the lights. Ta dah!
bb does know how to give surprises. My expression shows it all ;)
