Lesson 3: My 1st Presentation

(I reckon i'd better start blogging about my wedding planning course before i get lazy)

Er hem! Okay. I just had my 1st project presentation about 2 hours ago. We were to plan Sherwin's wedding around the below 4 pieces of info.

> The couple are fans of Harry Potter
> Their favorite travel destination is New York
> They wish to have a magical wedding
> Sherwin's favorite language of love is act of service

For the entire week, I've been cracking my head on the full concept. Finally sat my arse down to work yesterday. While nursing my weak body at home, i pieced together every unit of my idea. Somehow, the task seems less daunting once i get it going. By the end of 12 hours, my slides were ready, erm, actually not that ready. Somewhat displeased with the ending. Sherwin equates wedding planning as an art. I view it as a piece of literature or in simpler sense, a storybook. I am the author, the characters, the preface, the beginning, the details and the end.

My end result? The plus-es: I got compliments on the slides, the aesthetics. Some pictures caught attention and there were little "wows" and laughter. The minus-es: the expression on Sherwin's face about my ending. i thought he gave an anticipative look. Did i fail to deliver that oomph factor at the end? Since the others did not talk too much about the end, if not, had similar endings like mine, I wonder if i set too high an expectation.

Next assignment - Retrolicious. Scenes of "The Wedding Singer" kept flashing in my head. It would be interesting *wink*
