Good morning 2011!

Having slept through the "handover" from 2010 to 2011, i woke up early for a run - a New Year's run :)

Hit the road at 730am. The weather was cool. Nice :) The streets were quiet after a night of partying. Lotsa confetti at the Robertson Quay stretch. Running past Clarke Quay, i was happy to discover i was not the only person who spent a quiet NYE & hence up early when most people are nursing their hangovers at home :P Crossed paths with many joggers but mostly men.

Earlier on, I had decided to bring my new toy out for a photography excursion. In a mood for a smell-flower pace, i stopped at the important landmarks along this familiar route to capture some sights i deemed rare. After all, it's only once a year that i catch sight of this "aftermath" of the year end's mega-bash.

I took my usual water break at Esplanade. At the same time, i spent a while to take in the sight of the white wish balls floating on Singapore River. I have always found it to be a delightful sight. So many wishes of different people wafting on the river and each ball represents a hope for tomorrow. Hope is a good thing :)

Since it's a special day, i decided to spend a little longer at this usually busy place. Bought a hashbrown & orange juice from McDonalds & sat myself near Fat Bird. It would have been perfect if not for the post-party pukey air which lingered :P Oh well, i still enjoyed myself :)

Quite a fruitful 1.1.2011 I would say. Did my run, the household chores, lunch & cofee with my good friends, shopped, cleared outstanding stuff...and yes, spend a quiet but quality time with bb at our favorite McDonalds. I'm loving it :D
