Wow! 3 years flew past since my last post.
The little red dot is into her Circuit Breaker (CB) for 43 (out of 56) days now. Ohkay..i didn't really count. I chanced upon this website iamaccb.sg while looking for a countdown clock. Was surprised that someone really came out with one and the site has rather informative & interesting links.
A week after the closure of childcare centres on 6th April 2020, I started to WFH. Juggling work & housechores ain't easy. In the beginning, i was cooking lunch & dinner. After about 2 weeks, i threw in the towel & decided to just pack lunch & prepare dinner. Weekends would be my experimental time - for our favorite foods (hah mostly mine).
I must admit the enthusiasm is slowly wearing off, mostly b'cos of the fatigue. Bb K has learnt how to stand and walk with support late Apr/early May. With his new found abilities, he is now more active than ever. The CB seems to be getting to him too. He has been wanting more attention from us. I guess it's tough for kids to stay interested in the SAME environment, playing the SAME toys over and over again. As much as i would love to give him more attention, i have to see to my work obligations.
While finding excuses to make myself happy by snack bingeing, i try to run but somehow it's kinda easy to slip into a lazy mode. I'm not making excuses for myself but i feel uneasy when i go out without a mask. The gahmen mandates us to put our masks back on once we stop exercising. So whenever i reach a red light and i gotta stop, i feel kinda conscious. Well, i know the rules aren't so stringent but you know... And so i thought of trying something "different".
For the past few weeks, i noticed (more frequently) some people running on the top deck of this multi-storey carpark of a block across mine. From my living room, i could only see one end of the carpark. I was curious how long is one loop. Despite not a fan of loops, I decided to try it out yesterday evening after a sinful McD dinner (yes, finally got my hands on the sundae, apple pie & nuggets after they re-opened last week!). There was only one guy skipping his rope and another guy lying on the floor, in the middle of the car park, listening to Christian music. With my Garmin, i gathered that one loop was about 200m. I started counting as i began my job. Lost count after the 3rd loop. I was surprised that i could do about 3km+ without feeling bored and I actually kinda enjoyed it. There was no interruption - I don't need to "siam" oncoming human traffic, stop for red lights or put up with ciggie smoke. And best of all, i can lift my head & enjoy the stars on the sky! Wouldn't be able to do that on a normal urban run.
We still have about 2 weeks to go. Every cloud has a silver lining. I believe that in all less-than-ideal situations, we can find our silver lining.
This too shall pass and when we look back, may it be filled with more beautiful memories than unpleasant ones.
