The day SWET embarked on their dream

That day was a long one for me - 21 March, 2009.

Woke up at 3am to send Joanne to the airport. Thanks to June who offered us a ride. We met up with the rest (Jack, THuat, Cheeyeong, Cheemeng, Linda, Jeff, June, Felix etc) for brekkie at McDonalds. Not long later, it was time for the girls to be swarmed by families, friends, "fans", sponsors & media. Jack made a banner especially for Joanne and her 100++ strong ensemble shouted cheers for her as she crossed into the departure gate. Reckon that must have caused some jealousy from her other teammates' fans. Whatever :P

After the send-off, HH & Joyce accompanied me for my long walk. June alighted us at NSRCC and we headed towards the beaches of ECP > Tanjong Rhu > Sheares Bridge > F1 pitstop > Esplanade > the 3 Quays. Midway, we stopped by the Singapore Flyer for some pictures. We had great fun jumping about & posing for the 1/2 hour break!

As we continued, it started to rain heavily at Kim Seng Promenade. We sought shelter at Great World City & ended at Redhill MRT (our intended endpoint) when the rain reduced to a drizzle.

I was really sleepy after showering but forced myself to stay awake to do some stuff. I looked out of my window and was enchanted by the orange sky amidst the concrete constructions. Grabbed my cam and took a pic. When i took my eyes off the lens, i spotted a rainbow. Guess my excitement! There's always this "happiness" feeling when i see a rainbow. It's like smtg good is going to happen :) I continue to pray for the girls' safety at Everest.

One Step Nearer

Every training is one step nearer to the event day. It's about 6 weekends away from now. We started from Clarke Quay at 8.50am. Hmm...CQ is peaceful on a Sunday morning.
Clocked 7 hours of walking on a 13kg load. With HH around, i could hardly slack :P She set a good pace. Being her Sahara training partner, Joyce could follow it well. I found it a little tough when we reached NUS. Had to eat smtg b4 i gathered the energy to catch up. The weather was IDEAL for training today.
Bumped into Daniel who came back to NUS to bike after gg to Sentosa for a swim. Not long after, we sighted this interesting signage and stopped to take some pics. Supposed to have a video too but Joyce made a boo-boo :( Nvm...i told her that she must go back with me to the same spot to shoot the scene.
At 1.30pm, we met up with Uncle Jack at Sunset Way & took a 20min break at King Albert Park McDonalds. HH left for home after break and we continued into Rifle Range Road...towards Zhenghua then U-turn to MacRitchie. Alas, it started thundering just as we entered BT trail. Had to cut short our trg at BT visitor centre. The rain started pouring down rather heavily as we made our way to the bus stop.

Fantasy

Back in 2004, Clay Aiken performed Earth, Wind and Fire's song "Fantasy" with some of the AI Season 3 finalists. A very alive performance.

It's the first time i view the lyrics of the whole song. Hmm...good to fantasise n this manner ;)

Every man has a place
In his heart there's a space
And the world can't erase his fantasies
Take a ride in the sky
On our ship fantasise
All your dreams will come true right away

And we will live together
Until the twelfth of never
Our voices will ring forever as one
Every thought is a dream
Rushing by in a stream
Bringing life to your kingdom of doing
Take a ride in the sky
On our ship fantasise
All your dreams will come true miles away

Our voices will ring together
Until the twelfth of never
We all will love together as one

Come to see victory
In a land called fantasy
Loving life a new degree
Bring your mind to everlasting liberty

As one

Come to see victory
In a land called fantasy
Loving life for you and me
To behold to your soul is ecstasy
You will find other kind
That has been in search of you
Many lives have brought you to
Recognise it's your life now in review

As you stay for the play
Fantasy has in store for you
A glowing light will see you through
It's your day shining day
All your dreams come true

As you glide in your stride
With the wind as you fly away
Give a smile from your lips and say
Are you free yes I'm free
And I'm on my way

Body Combat

Adventure is where you find it.

Hmm...i wonder if my 1st accidental body combat class today count too?

Due to some last minute thingy, i went to True Yoga at Pacific Plaza instead. Clueless about what classes were available, i enquired over the counter & hastily chose Hatha. With some time to spare, i looked thru the other classes. Noticed there was a "M" behind the "Hatha"! Clarified with the counter immediately & realised it was an intermediate class & one is expected to do those contorted moves...those u see on typical Yoga brochures? omg....

The guy advised that i go for the Body Combat class instead (which was starting as i speak)cos it's more lively. I took the option. He then asked me which consultant got me to join the club. Oops!

Geez...the class was real lively...i felt like a live crab :P :P I had no idea how body combat works. Never attended nor seen it before. I tried hard to follow the steps. Jumped ard with my dis-coordinated moves. Felt like a monkey who had poor rhythmic sense. It was fun though!
